For those of you who have flown them, how does it fly??????????????????????
If I buy one it will have a Zenoah G-62 on it, I have 3 currently not in use.
Thanks G.S.M.

I am also very interested in these. I have not flown one but have researched them a bit. The impression that I get is that they are much more suited to a lighter engine ZDZ, DA etc than say the edge. I'm sure the G-62 will fly it fine and seeing how you have a few spare I would use it but I don't know of any flying with a G-62 at the moment.

I hear its great with a DA 50 or ZDZ 50 NG. But if you have 3 G62's, go for it. It'll be a little heavier and you'll have to tail mount the servos, but all of Tom's planes in this class are designed to use a G62.

I sold one to a guy with a Fuji 64 who agreed to test it with the heavier engine and see how it flies with more weight.
So far he has assembled it but not flown it. The plane (he says) is 19.5 lbs, which is very heavy for this plane. I'm still waiting to hear back from him on flying characteristics. If it flies ok with that engine then almost anything is fair game.

Mine had the ZDZ 50NG it and it flew great but not super light. Landings were pretty slow once I moved the cg back a bit. With 2 pounds of extra weight on board you will have to really keep and eye on the stall speed with your approaches. It will probably fly basic aerobatics great, but you can forget about extreme 3D.
I am currently installing the blue head ZDZ 60 on mine.

It weighs 1 pound more than the 50.
I should have it in the air with the new engine installed next weekend. I will post results and a newer video once it's completed.

Has anyone flown one of these, I will start working on mine as soon as possible.
How is this airplane at 3D, I am in the begining to intermediat learning stages, but as always still having fun with the hobby even after 25 years and hundreds of students.

80cc. Much too heavy, along with too wide.

This would certainly be able to give all the power the ultimate needs.
the ZDZ 80 makes close to the same power as the DA-100 (remember a single cylinder 80 cc is more effcient then a 2 cylinder 100cc, which is why the ZDZ 80 makes tons more power then a similarly displaced Zennoah 80) and people even use them in thier 33% planes.

Rc-ignitions can lighten up your G-62 for you with an EI setup. Fuji has the new 43cc engine. I really tend to shy away from the Zenoahs and Fuji's. I have owned one Fuji. So far I have had good luck with DA, FPE, and ZDZ.
A lighter plane will always fly better. You change the charecteristics a lot by adding weight.

Is anyone flying one of these with a DA-50 on it. If so how does it fly and is the 50 enough power to do IMAC stuff with it. I am not into 3D and just practice the IMAC basic and sportsman sequences so that I can start competing next year.

I had a ZDZ 50 on mine and It flew it great, For flying basic and sportsman sequences it works out pretty well because you do not have any snaps or spins on the uplines and these sequences don't require a lot of altitude for multiple maneuvers on the downlines.
Once your DA-50 breaks in you will be very very pleased with the power. Hovering will be done a little over half throttle with a descent pull out.
I am know installing an EVO 58 on mine. I had a ZDZ 60 but sold it for the more powerful EVO 58. Will install and get some vids up hopefully within the next 2 weeks.
I am know getting into extreme 3D and starting to practice the advance sequences so I wanted something that I can use in the bipe and then transfer into the extra 260 in the future.
I have a video up on the wildhare site flying my Ultimate with the 50NG. You can check it out and see how a 50 pulls it around after only 2 1/2 gallons threw the engine.

Thanks SAL
I kept a close watch on your build thread. The ultimate is my favorite plane. I have had 4 different planes and they have all flown great. I really want one of the wildhare's but I already have a custom built 27% ultimate that I am not finished with yet. I have flown it with a moki 1.8 and am now converting it to gas. It is a little smaller than the WH but is the same size as the aeroworks. it is a way nicer plane than the AW/WM 27% plane. The original kit was an Ultimate sports RC kit. I am converting it to gas and installing a DA-50 in it. I am moving the elevator servo's to the tail and setting up the rudder on a pull-pull. I have a little more work to do on it and then I can fly it. I hope it flies as well as the other ultimates that I have had. I am trying to decide which hare I will get next. it will either be the ultimate or the edge and who knows I might just end up with both as I love these WH planes. Best value for the $$ out there. Here is a picture of my ultimate bipe it's not a hare but what the heck.

My first flight was today:
http://www.rivervalleyflyers.com/Vid/index.html
I think it flies like a dream come true
DA 50
High Tech 5945'2 5645's 5955
2-2400 li-ion 1-1200 nickle metal hibrid
toms hardware kit
not sure why but it scaled in at just under 19lbs

Hey Guys...have enjoyed reading all the posts on the WH Ultimate. Has anybody built one with a Brison 3.2 yet? If so, how does it perform? Any info will certainly be appreciated as I want very much to put one in the air with that engine.

I just received my plane Friday and will be putting a Brison 3.2 in it. I expect it to be a good match...will let you know in a few weeks.
