I have a WH 28% Edge with a DA 50 for power and it seems to me like it vibrates the plane a bit to much, I could be wrong though being that I'm still pretty new to the Giant Scale Gas Scene. It's turning a 22x8 MCS prop. Is this normal or should it be fairly smooth like my smaller 2 stroke nitro engines? Please Help......
Thanks

Did you check the balance of your prop? also check the spinner balance as well. Check the engine mounting bolts. never run the engine without the wings mounted, they help absorb the impulses from the engine.

I would also like to add a couple of things. An engine that is running rich at idle will shake a bit more. I usually start leaning the low needle until I notice a hesitation in the transition then richen until the hesitation goes away. Always make engine adjustments with the engine a full operating temp. The second is prop ballance. These large props need to have the hubs checked as well. Ballance the prop horizontally for the blades and vertially for the hubs. It is not unusual to have to drill out some material on the heavy side or even drill the light side and fill the hole with a little solder and epoxy.

Shaun put it perfect lean/adjust idle needle until the transistion is slugish then slowly 1/16th ritchen until the transistion is smooth. Then ritchen your high speed needle until you hear a rpm drom, lean slowly to find absoulute peak RPM then ritchen slightly. Go back then recheck your IDLE. My BME 50 shook like hell until i spent 45 minutes on the needles(learning) now it idles and transistions smooth. At what I feel is a perfect setting I have just a little burble in mid throttle.
