What is the best way to hook up the elevator servos for th WH28% edge. Should I use 2 channels on the receiver or go with the Y-cable? I have channels available on the receiver but I have herd lately its easier to do with the Y-cable. Are there any advantages to using one over the other? I have a JR XP9303 TX, a 649 9ch RX and I'll be buying a hitec servo programmer soon. The elevator servos will be Hitec 5945's.

I just posted the same question a few threads down in this forum. I have the same plane, but I am using 5645's, futaba PCM receiver, and a futaba 9C. I decided to go with a "y" harness and had one of the servos reversed using a programmer. It works fine and both halves move perfectly together. As long as one servo is reversed, the digital trim on your radio will work fine and they will both go in the same direction when changing the trim.
I initially tried programming them on separate channels, but I just could not get them to move together good enough for my taste.

Ken, Am I understanding you correctly? You ARE using a Y-cable? I'll be getting the air frame at the end of the month and I figure why wait to get these questions answered. I'm still looking for opinions on the battery packs. I know I'll sacrifice weight but i'm leaning toward NiCd but NiMh is not ruled out yet. I think I'll steer clear of the LiPo/LiIon for now. There seems to be to much new chargers/testers that i would need for them. If anyone has any build photos to share or suggestions on tips I would appreciate it. I have viewed the DOD review and the edge540t.com site and they have been helpful. By the way do any of you have a phone number for Down on the deck?
Thanks, WW2 Ace

Ive had a few too many mishaps with Y-connectors..
I just plugged each one into its own channel..I kept playing with the clevis' until I got them just about perfect..I had to adjust one side with a minor amount of sub trim (-1)...

Yes, I am using a Y harness. Just a standard one. I have the programmer so I reversed the one servo that needed it. Fortunatly I am having no problems with this set up. I think it's a half dozen of one, 6 the other thing. Either way will work and work well.

I'm on the list to get one of the 28% Edge 540 when the boat gets here around the end of the month too.
I will be using JR8411 on ALL flight surfaces. I'm also using a JR8103 TX. I plan to use a Pmix on the elevators and the ailerons. This will eliminate the need for Y-harness' and Matchboxes. Just plug them into seperate ports in the RX and program the radio.
Throttle servo is JR DS811. Choke is JR DS537
RX is Hitec 8ch Supreme with dual batteries on seperate switches.
Engine is G-62 on electronic ignition with Slimeline wrap around pitts smoke muffler.
