I have been flying my Ultimate and have to say its probably the easiet 3D plane to fly. Ill get some pictures and such soon.
I am running my FPE 3.2 with a mezjlik 21x10 and its really the perfect combo. I dont think long servo arms are needed for the ailerons and on high rates the plane rolls incredibly fast. At 6.5" from the leading edge it will hover and 3d no problem. I was flying around in harriers a lot today and elevators into hover transitions. Ill shift the CG just a tad rearward and call it a day. I had balanced it to begin with using a Menz 22x8.
I would recommend triple rates if you have the ability. The first rate is a low rate, second high rates for all surfaces, and third a rolling circle rate. Getting into the harriers and hover it would be nice to use a lower rate on ailerons and once in them I would like rull rates on everything with a good amount of expo.
If I had to decide what to put a 50cc engine on, it would be the Ultimate. I have flown the 28% planes and they awesome, but this thing just sets into 3D moves solid. It might just be a little more fun to fly than the 260
FWIW an engine larger I think would just ruin the sweetness of the plane. Using lithiums and a 50cc engine you will have a sweet 3D machine.

No problem! I almost wish there was an Ultimate from Wild Hare for a DA 100
Now that would be one bad machine.
I am seriously tempted to just design a kit myself. I know how to use cad and all. Time to build would be the only issue. I am off of work the next couple days so you know what I will be doing.
Are you in the Marine Corps? I was stationed at Bragg up in NC. I actually miss NC and the awesome flying fields out in the country.

Cool I am an ETS'd SGT...lol. I have enough credits to go to OCS and I should have been a SSG but I got out. More money to be made in construction down here in FL. More money more planes

Give it just a little time. One never knows what's in the works until the last second.[8D]

You guys are making me want to finish my Ultimate up. All i have left is putting in the aleron servos , and elevator servos. I am mounting a R/C Ign g-62 and running rudder servos in the rear Hitec 645s. I be using Hitec 5625s on elevators. Hopefully it will balance out ok using this set up.

I used 645MG's in my ailerons. The response on high rates is insane. I used digitals on everything else. I kept buring out the 5245's so I went overkill and did a 5925 on the throttle.
The weather is all rainy and crummy the next couple of days. I want to get some rudder in the grass pics. Hovering that is
The last field I flew at there was some tall shrubs and such I was getting the rudder in. I am so tempted to try harrier landings with this plane. It seems like it will do them well but that composite prop and spinner kind of keep me in check...for now.

Finished mine and maidened last week...
Great flying plane, and once i get to grips with it 3d is going to be awesome. Found the landings to be pretty un-eventful, after a lot were saying bipes are fairly difficult, just kept a bit of power on and all went well.
i need to practise a bit before attempting the Harrier landings like Airbourne.

One of the fastest wall to a tumble planes I've ever seen. I was a bit unsure of how the plane would pull it off as well, but it's as good or better than anything out there. Due to the size of the ailerons and the shorter span of a bipe you don't want the ailerons to have too much travel though. You can't count as fast as she can roll at high rates[X(]
Airborne, now you've up and gotten me all excited about flyin' this girl again. She's gonna get worked hard this weekend. Been away too long and I think I've got a case of blue thumbs. Relief will be nirvana

Shot two 15 min. flights of nothing but 3d. The first was awesome but the second I had not mixed the plane out yet and it made for some interesting flying. The bipe is all trimmed out and the DA is running great. I am going to be flying it more tommorow. Will get more pics if anything else. Maybe I can get another video if the morning patrol doesnt get upset about me rudder bashing.
I had to wait until most everyone was gone to have fun. That tends to be the case most of the time.

Different at one of the fields I fly at. We usually have few enough people that we let each guy have solitary airspace during their flight. Better yet, when the big planes want to fly all the small plane flyers are willing to stand aside for a few minutes and watch. It's a very non competitive atmosphere and makes the flying day all the more enjoyable.

we have a pretty active group so its a lot like ohair Im called touch and go dan and the heli guys know im gona stay low to the deck till after i clear the field. The fun time is when we get several into the touch and go pattern and we all try and watch each others landings while not loosing our own planes in the prosses. there is something about getting a rythem going with other pilots. Seeing who pits last is allways a thrill some how i can get all my planes to go 1/2 hour
there are 5 wildhares in our club that I know of now all we need to do is get them all down there at one time and let the fun begin
