Just bought the new futaba 7cap,went to the field, did a range check and all my controls were going crazy, changed recievers and crystals three times, same problem, used somebody elses radio and everything worked fine, anyway a friend has a field signal tester, when he walked up to everyone who had there radios on the needle went from 0-100 immediately, when he walked up to my radio on,the needle stayed on zero.I'm very dissapointed,i had to send the radio back, paying 15.00$ for delivery, and they might stiff me with the shipping[:@]I hope the next one they send works better then this one.Has anyone else had problems with the new 7cap?And i was really looking forward to flying my wildhare edge.[

If you are using this radio for big planes (1/4 scale & up) I would suggest maybe considering an upgrade to a 9C while you are at it. The cost is not that much more & you really need mixing for dual elevators. The other advantages are to numerous to mention but dual elevator mixing is almost a must have feature with bigger planes.

I'm in favor of the 9C also. I have had only one problem with Futaba. At least 5 years ago I suspected one of my radios to be intermitently twitching my by biplane. I could never find the problem. I only used that reciever on my engine stand since than. While building my Edge I took the reciever to use just so I could set up my ailerons. Come to find out that if I hold the # 6 channel for a few seconds that all of a sudden the number 6 ailerons starts twitching or should I say jumping up and down. That's about it. Everything else I own of Futaba works great. Some of my servos are about 8 years old and I fly them in beater planes so you know they get abused and cold and sometimes a little wet. Lots Of Luck............ Bill

The 7cap has all the features of the 9cap,except it only holds 10 planes, and it takes crystals instead of the modules, also i dont think the synthesizer will work on the 7cap.Elevator mixing should not be a problem. For 149$ for just the radio you cant beat the price, and im also tapped out from x-mass,ive never had more then three planes flying at the same time anyway,so this should be fine for me,if i can get a good one.

Unfortunatly the 7c does not have the capability to mix dual elevators. An omission, I am sure was done by Futaba to sell more 9c,s.
Futaba's 7C Radio System Comparison and Review By AnnMarie Cross
The 7C's big weakness in airplane programming is that it does NOT support twin elevator or rudder servos in any manner. Programmable mixes that don't include link or trim make twin elevator or rudder servos impossible to do properly or safely, except with a y-harness or servo synchronizer. (If you use a mix for 2 elevator servos and use the elevator trim, only the servo in channel 2 is moved; the 2nd elevator would not be trimmed, resulting in roll every time you give elevator. For rudder it would be even worse, as the 2 servos would be fighting each other to move a single rudder.)

That really stinks because i was told when i bought the radio it has all the same capabilities, luckily i have a eq on my edge, but that really ticks me off because that was one of the reasons of purchasing another radio,i gonna try to upgrade since they took the radio, hopefully i can get the 9c.Thanks for the info.[:@]
