Default Gasoline engine selection for 73" Edge.

What would be a good gasoline engine to stick in this plane?

Evolution 35GT? Zenoah G38 or G45? Something else? I'd like to have enough power for 3D and don't want to deal with the mess of glow.

Thanks in advance.

You could also look into a ZDZ 40 or a BME 44 if you can find one. May try the new 55 Extreme.

Oh, look into a 3W 28 to.

I think it would work. I read somewhere that someone was getting 20 lbs. of thrust from their 28. Now I'd like to try it in the Baby Edge. But, then I have the 28% version now, so I doubt I'll be buying another one.

I have the FPE 2.4 in mine. It is a great combo. The FPE takes about 3 gallons to get broken in and running smooth - the first gallon was especially rough on mine - then it is awesome. I'm on 4 gallons now and it runs just as smooth as a big Nitro 2-stroker. On mine I upgraded ignition to CH with 28 degree hub, blocked 1 stinger and I am swinging a Biela 20x10 at 6600 RPM on the ground. It gains about 100 RPM with every extra gallon I put through it.

The plane is not a "floater" with this engine but I actually find it the easiest plane I have to land - the weight is just right. It flies IMAC great. I didn't know the meaning of floater until I tried my WH Composite Sukhoi - now that thing is a floater... in fact its hard as hell to make it land at all HA HA. I prefer a little more wing loading.
