Hey Guys,
i have been flying my edge540t 28% for a few months now, i have the DA-50 on her.
When im flying and it only happens sometimes, ill go inverted or put the plane in a weird angle ect, and the motor sounds like its about to cut on me, and i have to flip her into a normal position to regain the power, is this a result of my Tank setup? I think my clunk on the clunk line is to light, and when i do a manuver the clunk does not go where its supposed to.. Im running a 2 line system, 1 as a vent, and one for carby and filler (fuel T). should i upgrade this to a 3 line system? What cunks do you guys reccomend for these beasts? Thanks in Advance
Regards
Monte

Making it a 3 line system will do nothing IMHO, I just use the clunk that comes with the tank. Be sure the pickup line in the tank is not too long, if the clunk jams against the back of the tank it may not be able to move. Also make sure it is soft and pliable, not real stiff.

Hey Monte
I had a problem like that with brison 2.4,with ever u go to knife edge the engine would act like it was going to stop, then a few sec after it would run normal.
the guys at brison said to check the tank but all was well there.I seems the setting on my high end needle was to rich, have not had that problem since.I don't know about your DA but that was the problem with my brison.

I finally used a two-line system and I will never go back to a three-lined one. The two-liner is jus too easy!!! But, like Tom says, be sure the clunk doesn't hit the back of the tank. I usually make mine clunks so that they are about 1/8" off the back when held straight up.
Good luck,
Bobby

ok i had a look at the tank lastnight and all i can say is whoops. The fuel fubing has slipped off the brass tube by 3 - 4 cm's, causing the clunk line to be longer than usual. The clunk could move around the tank, but the clunk when inverted would press up right against the back of the tank, which i think obstructed fuel flow into the clunk could this be? well anyways i have fixed that, and my clunk looks like its ok, and the tubing is soft enough, i might replace it with the blue aerotrend stuff soon. If this does not fix it i will have a look at my needles. I still have not tached my 22x8 on the DA-50 im just tuning to get rid of the high end burble, so it might not be lean enough, still a new motor though...

If the problem still persists after you have corrected the fuel lines and re-tuned the needles, then its prolly a pressure problem in the cowl which is fairly common. There are several fixes for this. You can drill a hole in the diaphram cover and solder a brass tube over the hole..then run a piece of fuel line from the tubing into the fuse. If you notice there is a hole on the diaphram plate. if you do the brass tube trick you need to fill that hole with solder..Another fix (less work) is to get a carb plate..I had the same issues with both of my 50's and the carb plate fixed it..here is where I got mine http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/CarbPlate.htm

i think i will do that, ill order a carby plate from RC Blimp like you said, comes with instructions, all you have to do is unscrew the old one and put this one on?
