Default New Composite 41% Extra 260

Hi:

Some of you may remember that I started development of an all Composite Extra 260 a very long time ago. Did you ever wonder what happened to it?

The development took so long that I had the 41% Extra 300 built also, which is a wonderful aircraft. Basically the Extra 300 is the same plane but with a longer canopy, different cowl, and a bunch of features that I thought a big plane needs.

Now, finally, the prototype of the 260 is flying. This is Bill Hempel with the very first Wild Hare Extra 260 41% scale. It has a 3w157, caisters, Futaba servos, etc. No reports yet on weight or how it flies.

There are also two photos of another prototype that was flown in Thailand by Xtreme Composites, again no information on how it flew.

Specs are identical to the Extra 300 121 except it's all composite and it's a 260.

Price will be in the $2,400.00 range.

Hey TOM

I am very interested in this airplane. I am in the market for a composite project (mostly looking at 35%). You photos show the stock paint scheme which looks very scale, and would go to a 41% if you had this plane available today. Can you tell me if you plane to distribute this plane and when it will be available?

Thanks!

Yes, I do plan to distribute it. When is unknown now, we've just started flight testing.

Suggestions for other color schemes are welcome.

The new Extra 260 3,1m from X-treme Composite is in stock and available for European customers at www.throttlestore.com
The model comes in two schemes. Patty Waggstaff Blue/White and X-treme House Scheme 1.
It will also hopefully (?) soon be available for USA and Canadian customers maybe at www.bvmprops.com ?
