RE: *WH New Extra 300 28%/G-62*
I have the Extra 300 with a RCiGN lite G62 installed. I have not yet flown the plane but I can tell you that it came in at exactly 17lbs. complete ready to fly. I think there are a few people flying this combo and I have heard good reports. I should maiden mine on Monday and I will report back.

First time user on this forum. I'm from Drayton Valley Alberta, canada and I just received my 28% Extra from my local hobby shop which he got from Tom at Wildhare. VVery impressed with the kit. I am going to put a G62 in it, its at RCIgnition now getting converted to electronic. I was wondering how the G62 fit and if you flew it yet. Be interesting to hear the results.

I flew it today and yesterday. It came in right at 17lbs. and fit well. It hovers easily at 1/2 throttle and has great pullout. I am sure you will be very happy with this setup I really like the consistant running of the G62.

Great to hear that it flew great!!! A few questions, what length of spacers did you need to make for mounting the engine to the firewall for proper cowl clearance, what muffler are you using and what prop are you using? Thanks for the info.

For you guys that are flying the WH Extra 300 LX with the G-62 after RC Ignitions gets done installing EI and taking a lot of the weight off, will the rudder servo still need to be in the rear of the fuse or will the engine be light enough to move it up front on a pull-pull setup?

Since the 62, even after being lightened by Ralph, still weighs a bit more than a DA 50 or 3.2 Brison, I rather suspect that the rudder servo will probably need to be in the back. It's an easier installation than a pull-pull anyway, so it should not be a big deal. The hole is already under the covering for this if needed.

I just emailed Tom about when is a good time to call to order one of the Extra 300 LX. Would a 4.8 1800 mAH pack be enough with HS-5645MG all around and HS-475 on throttle? Thanks for the information guys. I didn't see an order form on his site.

Is anyone flying the 28% Extra 300 or the Edge 540 with the Brillelli 46cc? A friend at the club wants one of these planes after he saw mine but wants to know if the Brillelli 46cc would be enough to fly the plane. He is a sport flyer and not a 3D pilot so it does not have to have the power to hover the plane but I don't think he wants anything that would be just marginal either. The Brillelli 46cc swings a 22X8 prop at 6500 rpm.

When I flew mine, two flights was all I have so far, my G62 was only turning about 6200 with a 22x10. It flew it OK, but I want more. It would take the plane up vertical for quite abit. I could tell that the engine wasn't running up to snuff. Waiting on a new prop and I have to make some timing adjustments.
