Default New Giles

Folks have asked me a lot about the new Giles G202. After the first protype flew we had a whole lot of changes that were needed.

The (hopefully) final prototype is on the way here are a few pictures;

Wingspan 106"
Length 96" (approx.)
Weight unknown, probably 24-25 lbs.
Engine 100cc twin, DA-85, 3w85Xi, etc.

More specs when I cet the actual plane.

How does it compare to the old one?

Jake,

Uhhh, this one's bigger?

I knida like the color layout. The color choices could be a little brighter but it's looks ok now.

Dunno if that will be the final scheme, maybe.

The old one was 35% scale, this one is 40%, quite a bit larger but still near the same weight.

Haha.. my bad.. I was trying hard to remember what the size was of the old one.

I actually owned one for about a month and then sold it. I loved the plane for the whole one flight I got. I bought it unflown with a older 3w 80 twin and froze a ring / lost a cylinder on the first and only flight. Needless to say I kinda got burned on the deal and from that point forward the plane had a bad aura about it for me I had to sell it and move on since I didnt have the money to replace the motor. Spent more money then I had to buy it in the first place

Anyhow.. I always loved that scheme! I actually miss it. ( the yellow and purple) was easy to see and nice lookng.

This scheme is ok... but the blue down the side is too wide and the orange doesnt seem to flow with the scheme. I would do one "wild" scheme and 1 in the blue and red + whatever... so many blue and red planes out there....

I'm trying to figure out why there is a 50cc Sukhoi cowl sitting on the concrete in the background.

I agree the interupted blue side fuse stripe has the capability to cause of seizures hehehe. On the wing it looks good.

Wow, I had not noticed the cowl. Youhave a good eye.

I alos think the interrupted stripe is too large. When it gets here I'll try masking some of it out and see what it looks like.

The old Y/P scheme is still a contender, I really liked that scheme a lot.

That Y/P scheme is what sold me on mine! I really liked it. Unfortunately I jumped the gun on it and it was my first big plane. Paid for it over a couple months and when the engine went bad I had to get out of it.. I figured it was a sign hahah.
