RE: 28% Extra Special 300
Let me make it clear again, these planes in Australia are not from Wild Hare, they are bootleg from my (soon to be ex) builder.
Do not call me for information or problems. TF |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
Tom,
Would this servo work on all the control surfaces on your new Extra plane and it the hitec HSR-5995TG ? Would you recommend something else for the rudder? I've attached a link so you can review the specs. Would the JR 8611's be better? http://www.servocity.com/html/hsr-59...ra_torque.html thanks Chuck |

TF I understand that these guys are cutting you out of the deal, I feel bad for you and I can see why you will be moving to a new builder. But You need to understand that they are selling the airframes $300-$400 cheaper than it costs to have one of yours drop shipped and cleared through customs. If it was the same price I would buy one from you without a doubt. Any problems with mine (if there is any) will be sorted out through the retailer here in australia. That is only fair. However I would be interested in one of your instrument panels, pilots and possibly a hardware kit, if you would like my business. |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
tom have thaught of having a supplier in australia as u know freight for one off u is about $400 -600 more than the plane is worth sorry if a manufacture supplied to others . try not to take it out on us aussies we know due to logistics u could not support us and we dont expect u too as u wernt original seller.
plus suppliing cf wing tubes what would it cost to australia from u . |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
Actually the builder is allowed to sell the planes in Australia, that's OK. But he agreed to sell them without using my covering schemes or my name, then he failed to live up to that agreement. This is why I am unhappy.
He is using my name and reputation and the color schemes I paid to have designed contrary to what we agreed to. TF |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
Would the 5995 servo work on all the control surfaces on your new Extra? Would you recommend something else for the rudder? I've attached a link so you can review the specs. Would the JR 8611's be better? I sell the 5955tg, it's a great servo. I have had zero problems from them. Yes, they are completely suitable for the new 41% Extra. Compared to the 8611a, I know JR says they are equivalent specs but the 5955 seems to have a lot more torque, and can be used on 7.4 volts. TF |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
TOM i was told the plane i got was inported 2 year ago and i think rusty got the last of that colour scheme and there are different colour scheme for the new models and i understand your anger as time and effort u spent i am just a consumer i do not want to piss anyone off all i wanted is to talk to others that have same plane and what they did .
i wish iwas living in the us as your advancements in the rc are out there , to put this matter to rest are we able to talk about what we did with our planes in this forum or do u wish us to start our own. plus they called them probuilt. |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
Just a question tom are there any difference in models

RE: 28% Extra Special 300
5955's are the heat! I have them and JR 8611A's. The 8611A's seem to develop gear train slop faster plus they cost just a bit more.
In either case you would be more than covered in the 28% planes with these servos. They will fly a 40% no problem either. |
RE: 28% Extra Special 300
I bought one of these second hand, and I'm getting it ready to fly. What is a good starting CG point? Thanks, Tom

RE: 28% Extra Special 300
The c/g in the book says 2.5-3"back from the leading edge at the TIP of the wings..not at the root or next to fuse but at the TIP.

RE: 28% Extra Special 300
I was wondering how everyone checks their CG on this plane. I tried using a Great Planes CG machine and I can come up with 3.5" close to the fuse. How is everyone checking their CG at the wing tips? Also, I setup my control throws, based on what I've been reading in the forums at 12 degrees on aileron and elevator and 25 degrees on rudder for low rates for the maiden flight. Do these seem to be working for everyone?
I plan to maiden her tomorrow, weather permitting and the creek don't rise. Thanks |

RE: 28% Extra Special 300
Those numbers specify CG at the wing tips. If you want to use your CG machine put both wing on the wing tube without the fuse, and pull a string from tip to tip at the desired location (eg 3.5" behind the LE at the tip) and draw a line where the string is. Youcan balance it anywhere on that line.
