Default Changing ring in YS1.10

I am Changing the ring in my YS1.10, at the same time, replacing all gaskets and O rings, also regulator diaphragm and plunger.
What I would like to know is regards the ring, is there a position that the break in the ring goes relative to the piston.
ie to the fromt back exhaust side or other, or does it not matter at all?

Cheers Greg

I always set mine to be 45 degrees off the wrist pin axis. Been doing it that way for motorcycles, cars, and any other engine I was working on.

Thanks for that
So 45 degrees which way? Away from carby or toward,
Is it primarily for best lubrication?

It doesn't matter, just 45 degrees off wrist pin axis. The way it was explained to me is you do not want the opening of the ring on axis or perpendicular to the wrist pin. I forget the exact reasoning but I believe it had to do with the rocking of the piston and scoring the cylinder. No matter, I've spent a lot of time since then putting various engines together and have never had a failure.

Unless the ring groove has a pin in it to align the ring in a certain position the ring will actually rotate when in use same as the valves rotate while in use

Thanks for that info.
Now I need to knowsomething about the gasket kit.
I got a gasket kit from Cenral Hobbies and it has a clear plastic/nylon type of gasket which looks like it goes between the head and the crankcase, however on the exploded diagram I see no such gasket.
I have replace the large O ring whic is the gasket named on the diagram.
Just wondering if this clear gasket should be fitted on the 1.10
