Default YS170 Setting Up

Hi all,

I have a YS170 which I bought second hand. I also bought a new CDI conversion kit to go with the 170. The engine has been running perfectly, needed no adjustments other than on the HS needle.

After approximatly 20 flights, the engine would only give out 3/4 of the power it originaly had, on a APC 18.1 x 11 prop.

I noticed the pump poppet valves and pump body were well worn. So I gave the engine an overhall in replacing the bearings, new piston ring, and a new pump assembly.

My question is, how do you go about setting up the pump ? I've experience with setting up the YS 63 & 110's, but the 170's a little different.

Would anyone have any pointers please ?

Thanks
Mike.

On a DZ set the screw to on the pump to flush with housing. The adjustment on the pump is opposite the regulator on other YS series engines.....out leans and in makes it richer.

Okay thanks, I'll fire it up and see what happens.
