Ok, I've done everything I can think of.....adjusting the needle settings back to factory, changing glo plugs, running idle at 2000 rpm making sure my top end is within the rpm range, but I CAN"T get this engine to idle!
I can tell when it's too lean, because the rpm speeds up and the engine dies, I can tell when it's rich because it blurbs a little and then dies, but if I set the low end just right the engine will idle fine for about 5-10 seconds and just flat out dies.
The other thing I have noticed is if i'm anything over idle to about 3/4 throttle this thing runs richer than anything...I have tried turning in the regulator screw a little at a time, but that adjustment doesn't seem to do anything unless I go way in or way out with it ( in to about a 1/2 turn out or out about 3-4 turns).
Could the diaphram be bad??
The other thing I have noticed is if the engine is cold, this thing idles GREAT, but when it warms up, that's when the problems start.
I've checked valve clearance and it's about .003". My tank is holding pressure, and the high end seems to be ok.
I'm getting really frustrated, and would love to have any help in this matter. THANK YOU!!
