Default Ys Dingo help !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Dave!
I have a dingo, starts good run's good ,have ran about 3 gallons through it .
Using 22% red heli cool power,20% nitro rest Methanol. This has been recommend by the people that sell the YS engine's here in Austraila.
Swinging APC 16=12 prop. 8`400 RPM on the ground, top end needle setting at 1&3\4 turns out from closed.heeps of smoke
Engine has heeps of power in flight at full throttle pull back stick to half way back throttle up again, engine quits.
Out off 10 flights 9 dead sticks ,
Can you help ?

Sorry i forgot to mention that i use the YS 4 stroke plug, engine is inverted and running a Slim line muffler with two outlets out off the muffler.
Hope this helps you to help me with my problem.
Regards Pat from AUSSIE.![&:]

Have you run the pump screw in a bit? Also may still be rich on the main needle.

Hi Dave.
The pump screw is still set from the factory , At this point it is flush with the engine casting. Is the pump screw for the top end as well ?
Regards Pat.

Pump screw really has little effect on the top end. Screw it in a turn and see.

Hi Dave !
Went to try the mods.
Turned in pump screw quarter turn didn't like that, then went to half turn still no good then a full turn no good.
Went the other way,out a quarter turn it seemed to like that, had five runs no dead sticks, went great from idle to full throttle all day not a problem ,
Still smokes, but like it has a smoke system, using 22% red cool power oil.
Top end needle at 1 1/4 turns out from closed. 8,600 RPM on the ground using APC 16=12 prop
Is it still to rich,?not to keen to lean it out any more, don't want to bust the engine.

Regards RCPATTY.

With that fuel it is going to smoke. If it's running good, leave it alone.

Good Flying
