Default Stripped thread in crankcase

Hi Dave,

Can you help? I've stripped the thread in one of the holes in the rear crankcase, one of the two that the long dia. 3mm x 35mm long bolts go into to hold the back plate assembly on. Is there anyway to repair this or can a slightly larger bolt be used instead e.g. 6-32 or M3.5?

Regards

Keith

The right fix is a new case, but you can try a 3.5mm bolt if you can find one long enough. I don't like band aid fixes though, as they can cause other problems.

I was afraid you'd say that! How much would it cost to send a DZ crankcase to the UK?

Regards

The case is $142.95 plus about $6 for the air shipping.
