Hi Dave.
I have a small problem with my YS 110 engine. It would not run straight from the box, no idle and would not reach full throttle without dyeing, after speaking to ys service dept I cleaned the regulator out, which was full of debris, including pieces of o ring. anyway the engine runs fine now apart from , if it idles for more then 20-30 seconds it just dies, or dies when I open up ther throttle. It transitions up and down cleanly with no hesitation at all and runs great in the air,. Do I need to adjust the idle needle, or the regulator to stop it cutting out? Fuel is cool power 20/20, os f glow plug, 15x8 prop. brought the engine new last October in Vegas but have only just completed the model to put it into, so if it needs to be repaired/ overhauled where in UK do i need to send it to?
Many thanks
Darryl

Does it die lean or rich at idle? If it speeds up at idle, then dies, it is too lean. If it slows down gradually and dies, it is too rich.
If it needs service, I would recommend that you send it back to us.

it does neither, it will sit at idle for 30 seconds at a steady pace, very slow idle, or a fast idle, it does not matter, then it will just die, or if you open the throttle it just dies. sending it back to you is a bit drastic, is there no one in the UK to look at it under warranty?
Thanks

Darryl,
I bought my YS over here from Probuild he is the importer for the UK.
www.probuild-uk.co.uk They will be able to help you, not sure about the warranty though. Cost me £35 for a strip down, clean and run when I sent my 63 back after a crash (parts extra of course).
What fuel are you using?
Leigh.

Sounds like it's just cooling off. Try pulling the coil up, out of the plug about 1/32" so that it will run hotter. Use a pin or #11 exacto blade to do it.
Sounds crazy, but I have seen it work more than once.

thanks will try it, may be some time though as I have to finish the plane off now it has been test flown, may also get an on board glow driver to see if that helps.
