Are you comfortable with a 17x4?

And if it is a little big, you can always trim the length to get the rpm you want.

Hi Dave,

I called YS Performance and talked to Richard (I think?) about my engine. Sounds like he replaced something in the regulator. Do you have any more details? Is this a common problem with 1.10s?

Hi Dave,

I called YS Performance and was told they replaced some parts in the regulator. Do you have any more details on what they fixed? Is this a common problem?

Hi Dave,

I'm back! I received my engine back from YS and flew it without touching any adjustments. The engine still surged significantly at any throttle setting below 1/2 and died on my 1st approach for landing. Since receiving the engine back from you, I have abour 2 1/2 gallons of fuel through it. I've tried Cool Power 30/20 (Nitro/Oil), Cool Power 15/20 and Magnum 30/20. Regardless of the fuel, regardless of the additional time on the engine and regardless of the settings I have tried, the engine runs no better than it did out of the box. As stated above, it surges below 1/2 throttle and won't idle for more than about 20 seconds before it dies. I've also run it on my test bench with a completely different fuel tank, hoses and check valve. No change.

Any suggestions before I send it in for the second time?

Thanks,
Timothy Farrow

Call Richard at service and give him the business before you send it in. The number is

775-782-4562

Tell him just how unhappy you are that it has to come back again!

Sorry for the problem, Tim, but one way or another we'll get it sorted out.

Dave
