Default 91ac considerations.....

After reading about how much pressure goes into a YS plumbing system I wondering if I need to secure my fuel lines to the nipples with anything?
Also any rough idea on how much fuel per min this thing drinks?

It is never a bad this to use something to secure the fuel lines. I use the little fuel line clamps that most LHS sell and do all of the ends of the fuel lines. The wire from inside the paper covered trash bag wire ties work well also. I also use fiberglass reinforced tape (packing tape) an sourround my fuel tank with it to help it hold the pressure better.

As far as fuel usage, I think it is somewhere around 1.1 .13 OZ per second at full throttle.

You gonna love that engine . I had one and used a Bolly 15x7 prop and it was perfect for it

Mine finally spun the connecting rod bearing at about 600 flights and I replaced it with the 110FZ and all I can say about both of these is WOW [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

No need to clamp the lines, I've never blown one off.
About 1.5 oz per minute at full throttle, but who flys around at full throttle all the time? A 16oz tank will work fine.

I currently have a 11oz tank. It came with the plane and I've not picked up a larger one yet. Since the engine is actually way more than I'll need on my plane I doubt I'll be using anything near full throttle for very long.

OK more questions. I've started to try and run the engine and have had some dificulties.


1) At first it would not draw fuel from the tank. The tank was under pressure, verified by removing the fuel line and getting doused with fuel. I noted no leaks and the tank was still under pressure after 30 min of setting idle.
I messed with the settings and primed the system by adding fuel to the line from the pump to the carb. It eventually started drawing fuel.
I reset the high and low needles 1 1/2 turns from closed and set the regulator flush with the housing.
2) Now fuel drips from the carb at a steady rate with the throttle closed. When I advance the throttle the fuel pours out then drops to a steady trickle.

I have managed to run the engine only to throw the prop twice. This time my propnuts whent flying and I can't find them.
I contribute the propthrowing to being to rich.

What would be causing the engine to leak so much fuel from the carb???

After alot of reading I might have found my answer. Looks like the reg housing was on backwards. There is a small tab on the side that goes towards the prop correct?

One more question. What is the thread size for the propshaft. I need to get more propnuts, where could I get them from fairly quickly?

They are 8x1mm. If you want the double nut type, try Central Hobbies.
