Default YS140 Compression??

Hi Dave,

I have a new, unrun YS140 FZ Sport, just fitted in a test stand with 17*8 prop.

First thing i noticed is that there is only a very small amount of compression. Will this change as the fuel flows through it??

Secondly, the regulator screw is proud by a mm or so, should i turn this in flush before I start??!!

Regards,

Steve

The compression will come up when you run it, but just for grins, pop the valve cover off and make sure the valves have .003" clearance on both the intake and exhaust. The factory sometimes gets them a tad too tight.

Leave the reg screw alone until you run it. If fuel flows from the carb when the tanks is pressured up, screw it in until the drip stops.

Dave,

I'll leave well alone, and just run it.....

Thanks for the reassurance...

Steve

Will Do..

Should the largest lock nut be drilled very off centre?? the second nut will tighten on to it but i don't want to harm the shaft?

Steve

It isn't really drilled off center. It has a boss that is off center in relation to the tapped hole. Lock the outer nut with the recess down on it. You will not damage anything.

Dave,

I was worrying about nothing....
Followed the instructions, and she started second flick (well, most of the instructions anyway )

She's getting near to a stable idle after only 3 tanks.... This is one amazing powerhouse of an engine!! my first 4 cycle engine too!

Many, many thanks for your help, and 'worldwide' product support..

Regards,

Steve
