Hi everyone - I need some help with a YS 91 AC engine.
I have two of these engines however one of them I can't seem to get running correctly.
I have replaced all the gaskets, checked the glow plugs, checked the fuel tank, checked the one way valve, adjusted the tappet settings and TRIED to follow the directions as far as setting the low/high end.
The problem I have is that I can get the engine to run on high end without a problem, the idle seems to be a little difficult but when I think I have it, I cannot transition to high again, the engine sounds like it is starving of fuel when I go to high.
Any ideas on where to start or what to do?
Although I have had the engine for about a year, it is practically new, I have run it about 20 times but always had a problem so I don't want to use it anymore - I think I would just like to get rid of it if I can't get this thing running.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Your best approach is to send it in to Richard at our service dept. You could chase the thing with parts forever and not get it sorted out. He will figure it out quickly.
All you have to do is give him the info you just gave us here, and let him handle it.

I think I am going to have to do that - I am so tired of trying to get it to run correctly - tomorrow will be the last time I try to get it going. If it fails, I will have it in the box and shipped by Wednesday. I just did not want to spend any more money on this engine
Thanks for your help

If the engine was a problem from the beginning you should have sent it in. We do warranty engines that aren't correct out of the box, but at this point the engine is long out of warranty.
Write a note explaining the problem and how you have tried to repair it. Service will appreciate your honesty, and it will help them in determining the problem.
