I have a YS 140FZ and a YS 140L in front of me. They both have FZ 140 stamped on the engine lug on the same respective side. Both have 2 ni[
]pples on the back plate. How can I tell which is the real 140L or 140 FZ?
Thanks.

The one I removed the carb body does not have the three taped hole in center of backplate. I assume then that it is the FZ and not the 140L.

You stated in one thread that one engine DOES NOT have the three tapped holes.
In your latest one BOTH have three tapped holes. Which is it??
The one with 3 tapped holes is a 140L. They were all marked FZ.

So now they both have holes. HMMMM!
If both the engine are the same on the outside you will have to take the engine completely apart to see if it has the crankshaft sealing rings. Only a true 140L will have the rings.
Good Luck!
