Hi Dave,
I have seen some pilots, most notably the Japanese using venturis on their YS's. Supposedly they are to increase power and reduce fuel consumption whilst "improving the thrust curve" in the mid range. Any ideas + have you tried these on a 160?
Thanks,
Angus

You can't burn less fuel and make more power.
A long velocity stack can increase mid-range power, but are weather sensitive. Changes in the weather mean a change in the length of the intake.
Don't waste your time, spend it on more practice.
