Default YS 1.10 Muffler coming loose

Hello Dave,

I have run about 7 tanks from it and it is very good, I had 91fx on the Funtana now it flies great with ys 1.10

I did not have to touch the low end or regulator yet.

I have a problem, no matter what I do the muffler comes loose.

I used blue loctite on both engine and muffler sides and today it came loose after 4 fights on the muffler side.

I tightend it significantly and it comes loose even with blue loctite.

I am glad that I had a wire holding the muffler to the firewall so it did not unthread itself and lost.

What can I do for it? Looks like the nut is coming loose and maybe beacuse of high temperature at the end loctite seems not working, I did not see any residue of blue loctite. I can use red loctite but at those temperatures I am not sure it will hold or if it holds I am not sure weather I can remove it later.

Thanks,

Try teflon pipe tape. Is the muffler inside the cowl? If so, get it outside as it is running too hot and you'll never keep it in place.

Try www.pspec.com for some better mufflers.

yes, the muffler is inside the cowl and have small hose at the exit, I will try to put it out. will try the teflon tape, if it does not work I will get a new muffler.
Thanks,

Outside will probably work fine. They run very hot, especially inside a cowl.

Muffler is about 160F outside cylinder head is 140F, I am a temp gun person. I put some teflon tape and it reduced the play of the muffler in the threads, and tightened strong with blue loctite and put some red from outside the nut.

But I think the problem is unlike OS and saito the muffler side does not have a wrench holding point and it is more difficult to tighten.

I am going tie it to firewall with wire again just in case.

Also turned it so that 50% of the muffler as well as the outlet is outside the cowl.

It is a powerful engine and performs really good starts easy glad that I got one,
