Hi Dave
I was just reading the messages concerning the YS-110 and have noticed that my problem seems to be somehow well known.
Last year I bought a Synergy 110 from Braeckmann, my selected engine is the YS-110, prop is 15x8, fuel is 20/25. I went through your setting instructions several times, but I did not manage to adjust the engine correctly. High speed settings are ok. The transition from low to high speed seems to be ok, however I have difficulties to notice if the engine runs too lean or to rich. But my main problem is the idle and low speed behavour: Letting run the engine for about 20 seconds in idle or low speed, the engine just dies. Sometimes I can keep it running when "playing" a liitle with the throttle stick. During the last 8 months I was facing this problem all the tie. I have been trying to adjust the settings for hours, beginning again at the original settings several times, but I never managed to get a good running engine. Whenever I fly (with a quite uncomfortable feeling), the engine generally dies latest during landing approach, because then it needs to run on idle for some time. Aerobatic manoevres with idle over some time are not possible.
Can you give me some advice what I might have to change? Whats about the new plunger? I read several times that people with similar problems had to install a new, modified plunger.
Thanks for your help

It has regulator/plunger problems. Impossible to tell which one or both without seeing the engine. If it was purchased in the USA, it needs to come back here for repair.

Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem with my YS 110( 20/20,OS F, APC, 15x8), nice topspeed, perfect transition but it dies at idle after 10-15 sec., before that it speeds up a little.
normally it´s to lean in idle, so i richen the LS needle(cw), it´s nearly closed now, but no effect on this behaviour at all.
any news out there about this ?

These engines both have regulator issues. They may or may not respond to a different plunger, regulator, throttle body. One or all may be the cause of the problems, and it's not something that you will fix easily yourself. These engines need to come see us.
Have your tried my setup procedure at www.ysperformance.com ?

Hi Dave,
thanks for your hints, yes I try your setting procedure. I will fit a new plug, and try again.
One more question.
Is it normal that the engine drops fuel when it´s pressurizd but not running, about 1 drop per second????
I´m a little confused on this??

Hi everybody
In the meantime, I managed to solve this problem completely. After having plaid around with the engine settings for a very long time without any success (I even sent in the engine once for repair), I finally started from scratch removing all things which were not absolutely required to run the engine: cowl, my tank-filling system and - the Hatori pipe. With the original muffler, the YS110 ran perfectly! The installed pipe was the Hatori 674. That pipe does obviously not have a large enough crossection. Now my pipe is the 692. It took me 5 minutes to readjust the setting, and now the engine simply runs great. Perfect in idle and in full throttle, very good transition.
The original pipe 674 was unfortunately recommended by my distributor, however turned out not to be suitable for this engine. The pipe 692 provides a larger crosssection and less dynamic pressure. This seems to be very important for this engine in idle conditions, but you won¨t notice any difference in max throttle.

Hi there,
I solve my problems too, not nice but true, the cylinder has a crack and this was the reason why all my tuning was effectless.
Thanks for support..........

I have bought the 110 on ebay, I guess there was a fine crack as I get the engine, however I fly it
only one time without a crash.
But it´s nice to know the reason why..............
