Default YS 110 Issues

Dave, I purchased 2 YS 110s about 18 months ago. I've had the treaded pipe that connects the stock muffer to the engine break at the transition from the large to small diameter during flight. This happened twice on the same plane. Both mufflers are lost. I'm running a gator soft mount. What is the solution and will YS replace the parts?

I'm running a 15x10 APC prop with YS 20/20 Power Master Fuel. I've run about 6 gallons through the engine. I've adjusted the valves once already. The high end is about 8800 rpm and the lowest consistent idle I can get is over 2500 rpm which is too fast to land. If I set the idle any lower on take off it will quit on landing. How do I get the idle lower?

Othewise these engines are great.

Thanks

I think the engines are just out of proper adjustment. Go to www.ysperformance.com and follow the running instructions.

Call Richard at YS Service and complain about the pipes. They should not break.

Dave, I am about to try and adjust my valves on the ys 110 for the first time. What is the proper procedure for doing so. The owners guide tells you what the valve lash should be set at, but not how to exactly do it. I have the valve cover off and see the adj screws and locking nut.... are you supposed to have the engine at tdc before setting???? Please help.
Thanks
Robert
