Default YS .63 regulator vs. Cline type regulator

The external regulator on my .63 S has provoked me into wondering how the function of it compares to a demand type regulator such as a Cline or Iron bay. Unlike the two aftermarket regulators, though, the .63 reg also sends the crankcase pressure through the reg. So, how exactly does the YS regulator work? I've a brand new .63 sitting on my bench but I'm not crazy about tearing it apart prior to having even started it.

What it really boils down to is this: I also have some 2 stroke planes and one of them currently has a Cline regulator on it. It does work but to fine tune it is difficult; it has to be removed and disassembled each time and I'd really like to have a regulator that is externally adjustable. Any chance the external YS regulator would work for this purpose?

Incidentally, my other YS .63 is in a Sig 40 Rascal- a GREAT combination!

It's a different system. The YS uses a high pressure tank with timed pressure from the engine. The Cline uses crankcase pressure which is significantly lower.

The YS system won't function properly on low pressure.
