Hi,
I need a high rpm 60 engine for a high speed model I'm building. Is there any reason I can't use the 61 ST2 helicopter engine with a propeller? I' want to run a 12x8 at about 13 ~ 15k rpm...

Dave, I just found your previous posts on this subject, so now my question is whether I could use the longer crankshaft from an old YS 61 FS aiplane engine to replace the shorter heli crankshaft? I have a 61 pattern engine which I bought about 15 years ago, and the crankshaft is in good condition. Or, does YS still stock parts for this old airplane version?

We still have parts for the 61, but the crank will not work in an ST2 as it has a different stroke length.
Drill the props and use a reach through type prop nut, available from Tru-Turn in the thread size you need, 8x1mm.
