Default Break in question

Hi Dave,

Can you please describe the break in procedure of YS engines? Do they have to be broken in on the bench or just 2-3 tanks on the plane and fly rich? Also when I operate for the first time, should I run it on idle or increase/decrease the rpm via the mix needle as OS suggests? The break in procedure is not very detailed in the manual and YS Performance web site, that's why asking.

Is it ok to use a 17x4W prop for breaking in my 110 or should I use something smaller? I will use 30% CP Heli, hope is ok for break in.

Rgdrs,

Nick

I always run them on a bench, but most people don't bother.

Just run a couple of tanks of fuel through at full throttle very rich, then set the engine per the running instructions at www.ysperformance.com.

Always run the engine slightly rich and you'll never hurt it.

Thanks. Is it ok to break in the engine with 30% Cool Power Heli or I should use less nitro for the first time?

The 30 has plenty of the right oil. It will work fine. Keep it rich!
