Could a 110 be further insulted by running it with the YS63S external regulator (assuming that you made a cover plate for the hole) ?
I insulted a shinny new 63 today by installing an old 53 crankshaft in it.

How did it work out? The part numbers are different, but the crank is the same except for the smaller snout.
And yes, you can further insult the 110 with a 63 reg. if you like. No problem making a cover plate.

The 53 snout fits a custom made flywheel/fan in an old XCell 46 graphite heli and works fine.
There are still a few guys who want to revive old orphaned 4-stroke heli's from about 10 years ago. They generally come with a (busted) 91ACH. My point is that it is more cost effective to convert a new engine. The 110 should fit and give a slight boost. The external regulator is better than the old insulator plate on the 91ACH. The new 63S is heli ready and works very well if you can make it fit.
Question: I notice that the elaborate multi-fuel ported 53 carb barrel has been replaced with a single tappered slot on the 63. It this a general trend in new YS four strokes ?

You never really know what YS will come up with. Mr. Yamada is a tinkerer, and when he comes up with something he feels is better, they use it. Sometimes we have changes from shipment to shipment. Who knows what tomorrow will bring???
Good Luck!
