Hi Dave, I have 2 YS 110's, one in my Ultimate 10-300 , and one in my World Models Super Chipmunk. Both Engines are running perfectly. I run in desert conditions (very high summer temps, 100 +) at sea level in Kuwait with a rich setting, Cool Power 20, 20 fuel, that great green stuff. The performance on both engines is fantastic.
My question is, will the 110 be powerful enough to fly a Segull Edge 540? I'm not into 3D flying. The recommended size is 120 to 180, but a very good review in RC Model World September 2005 copy (UK Publication) suggested a 120 would be more than adequate. Flying weight (in the review) was 6KG or 13.2 lb. What's your view?

Dave, thanks for your reply,
Currently I have no interest in hovering and pulling verticals!!
What is the maximum weight I should have on a "large" plane using a YS110?
Do you have an alternate suggestion to a suitable engine? What about the YS 140 sport or the DZ?
Are they similar in ease of operation? To date I have not had any issues with either of the YS110's.
Thanks in advance.

The 110 is good for general aerobatics in aircraft to about 11 pounds IF they have plenty of wing area. I think the 140 Sport would be a better choice for the Seagull. The 140 is just as easy to use as the 110.

Thanks for the advice. My local model shop mentioned a YS140S for Special, what is the storey behind this model?
