Dave,

My 63 is on a Pizazz and when I pull to vertical and go into a hover the engine begins to vibrate violently and then dies. Seems to run fine in level flight. The engine has run flawlessly for nearly 2 years, could I have a bearing going bad?

I'd be more likely to think that the clunk is hitting the end of the tank and making it go lean.

Thanks Dave...one thing I forgot to mention is that there is grey splatter residue on the canopy, not the usual slobber.

Not a good sign. Could be that the rotor/backplate has an issue. Might be worthwhile to send it in.
