Default YS120 3-Blade

Hello Dave,
Sorry I missed you at Toledo, missed out on our annual conversation about the kids I teach. Did pretty well this year, I have 10 6th graders who qualified for 9th grade algebra and 12 6th graders who qualify for 8th grade algebra. So I think I earned my pay this year. Dave, I want to put my FZ120 in the new Great Planes Curtis P-6E Hawk. What 3-blade prop could I safely use on this ARF? My best to you, the wife, and the house full of pets. Chic White

Like I said in the phone call, an SB 24x12 will be perfect!! Just kidding, try the 15x7, it should work fine.

Always good to hear from you, and my best to Shirley.

Dave

Dave, thanks so much for the quick response, you are truly a professional. However, besides not being able to find a 3-blade 15x7, that SB 24x12, in either 2 blade, 3 blade, or 4 blade will be completely impossible to locate. Might you have any suggestions as to where to begin looking for either of those two pieces of lumber. Blue skies to you and yours my friend. Chic

Try Hobby Lobby. Graupner has a 3 blade 15x8 that will work well, too.

Have a great summer and keep in touch.

OK Dave, you have been a true nice guy with me yet at the same time terrorizing Shirley when I'm not looking. I appreciate that, it keeps her busy and thus, leaving me alone. So, I'm going to push my luck with you one more time before I wear out my welcome. Smile. Will the 120 handle the "Solo Prop" aluminum hub/3-blade prop set up. The smallest diameter they have is 16 inch. It can be pitched down to 5, sooooooo will the 120 handle a 16x5 or 16x6 multi blade prop? Thanks my friend. Chic

Never mind Dave, if I'm smart, I'll stick to your first suggestion with the 15x8. Chic

Good idea, Chic. I don't like the take apart props myself.

Regards to your long-suffering wife!
