Hope someone can help....
I have a new 140L on a scatch build cap, about 9.5 lbs. I need to know what would be the best prop for 3d flying. I am looking for it to back down and pull out vert in a hover.
Thanks
Chris

I have a YS-140L in my Extra 300sx. The best prop I found is an APC 18x8W(8100 rpm) for 3D. I suspect an 18X6W might be better but wont know until I modify my spinner. It's an AWSOME power plant.

Now that I have had a chance to fly it and brake it in, it is a great engine. I am getting 9100 rpm with a 18x6 zinger prop, 20/20 fuel with a pitts smoke muffler. I have about 2 gallons of fuel through her and she has converted my cap into a total 3d machine. I the ys 120f was fun but the ys 140L is a totally different beast.
Hope this works for you,
Thanks,
Chris

MY GOD, she's a frikin animal!!! I had no idea that she had that sort of pull.
I would recommend Chris though, that you try an 18x6W, to get the revs under 9000. Thats where they are happiest. (Although 100RPM more doesn't seem like too much).
