Hi Dave,
I was at the club and I caught crap for a loud engine today by one of the club seniors. [&o] Any recommendations on a prop that can bring me down below 100db? Also do the performance specialty mufflers add performance to the engine? Thanks.

The PS muffs might add a couple of hundred, but their intent is convenience, not adding power.
What's the combination that produces 100+db?

Don't laugh, but its open pipe, just running the header. With the stock YS muffler (it keeps falling off) it doesn't seem to muffle the noise much. It could be a lot of prop noise too as I am runing an APC 18x6W at 9200 rpm or so.

With a straight pipe I'm not surprised by the noise level.
Don't know what else to tell you, and prop size isn't going to matter much.

Well do you know of any mufflers off the top of your head that you could recommend to get the noise level down? I am not trying to keep running an open pipe. Thanks.
