Default ys63fz

hi,

I come from the club, a normal time with sun not so cold 10 dismantles, I really had evil with started the engine ys63fz

I tested so much that its blocked I did not include/understand why? I put of fuel in the carburettor and directly started!

I controlled the engine!...
For compression and the remainder all be good.

I wonder whether it is during starting that I do not realize as it must!

I do it this manner :

1/ I but fuel
2/ I open gas has max
3/ I make turned the engine with the starter during 2 second and stops the Muffler!
4/ I but the gas as in point 0
5/ then starts with heating candle and its starts.

I do not know if this method and the maid!

ps : I do not arrive at not started with the fingers ! Always with the starter ! it is normal ?

Thank you for your assistance…

I speak French, I excuse myself for the English faults

Please read the instructions at www.ysperformance.com

You must ALWAYS use a starter with YS engines.

Thank you link Dave

dave ....

1. Be sure that the engines has fuel lines connected per the instruction sheet supplied with the engine. OK

2. Open high-speed needle valve 2 turns.OK

3. With fuel tank filled completely and the fuel lines connect properly, prime the engine by running it at full throttle with the starter for 5 - 10 seconds. DO NOT CONNECT THE STARTING BATTERY WHILE DOING THIS.OK

4. Set throttle at 1/4 open. Have a helper hold the airplane if so mounted.OK

5. Connect starting battery and apply starter. Engine should start immediately. If it does not, check for fuel delivery and make sure the glow plug is operating properly.OK

6. Upon starting, allow the engine to run at 1/4 throttle for at least 30 seconds. OK

7. Advance throttle to full and adjust the high-speed needle to a slightly rich full power setting. When set, slowly reduce throttle to a fast idle.OK

8. Allow the fast idle to continue for a few seconds, then advance the throttle to full. If the transition from low to high is rich, the regulator screw should be turned clockwise. If the transition is lean, turn the screw counter-clockwise to richen. Adjustment should be made 1/4 turn at a time until you are very close then 1/8 turn for fine adjustment. DO THIS ADJUSTMENT WITH THE ENGINE STOPPED FOR SAFETY.OK

9. When the transition is set correctly, then reduce the throttle to full idle. If the idle speed slowly rises, screw the idle screw clockwise to richen. If the idle speed slowly drops, open the idle screw to lean. Work 1/8 turn at a time with the idle screw adjustment. Correct idle speed is 2200 to 2400 RPM. At this point the engine should be set correctly. FURTHER ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED AS THE ENGINE BREAKS IN. It is the small yellow screw? It is this : "Low Speed Needle Valve" ?

Thx

The idle screw is in the center of the carburetor barrel.

It sounds like it might be detonating. What size prop and what fuel are you using?

Not enough nitro for the prop you are running. Either increase nitro or lower prop size. The engine is detonating on the 15% because of too much load.

Should be fine. Make sure you run it rich enough.
