I have a brand new YS 91 FZ. It will fly on an 8 pound fun fly. Can I fly a 16 inch prop? Most people like this motor with a 15, but for a large fun fly, a bigger diameter is usually better. How big is too big? I'll fly Wildcat 20/20 fuel and I'm at about 600 ft above sea level.
I was thinking a Top Flite Power Point 16x6 or maybe even a Bambula. I assume that a lighter wood prop would help transition a bit.
Thanks,

Any prop which will turn in the 9000 rpm range will work fine. Lighter weight, the better. Careful that you don't get something so wimpy that it comes apart though.

I thought I was shooting for 9,500 to 10,000? It seems like a 16x6 should easily get to 9,000. What props are the ones coming apart? I'd probably start with a Top Filte PP because they are at my LHS. If that one does OK, then I may order tha Bambula or maybe a BY&O.
