Default DZ160

Hi again Troy,

Maybe you can shed some light on this one, the 160 in Adams Pinnacle has never missed a beat and we don't run a header tank in this model.
But when we fitted this engine, with no changes made at all except tuning, into the Zeque, also minus a header tank, it has had a hickup on each flight with the tank about 3/4 full, untill it finally deadsticked on about the 8 th flight.

We changed the plug at about the 3 rd flight but still the same, the fuel tank set ups are identical between the two models, same brand tank etc, both have the YS clunks, as I said identical, we even replumbed Zeque's fuel system at about the 6th flight, in case we did something wrong and checked the tank, but still it hickuped.

My question, why will it run in the Pinnacle with out a header tank, but in the Zeque we must fit one???

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the tank location is slightly different between the Pinnacle and the Zeque, but you would think it would make no differance with the 160 pump.

I'm stumped

Default RE: DZ160

Is the pickup tube in the Zeque a super flexible line. Meaning when the clunk is soaked in fuel it will move all around the tank very easily. Even forward?

The reason I ask is that is what I have been doing with my tanks as of late. I ran a header tank for years and it was great. Since I changed the fuel line inside the tank to super soft and flexible line like the Japanese use I removed the header tanks and have had no issues.

Sometimes the burp is a sign of an engine that is slightly lean. Or the little black plastic check valve on the injector is leaking air.

Check these things.
