I have seen the diagram for the 2 main lines but what about the two nipples on the lower back of the engine? I am trying to plumb correctly?

Razor,
I posted this in the pattern forum also...but felt that guys over here would like this info also.
the reason you were having trouble is the motor you show in the photo is not a 140FZ.
Yes I know its says 140FZ on the side of the case. This is because its an 140FZ-Limited edition.
This is also referred to as the 140L It shares the same case as the 140FZ and actually the 140Sport which is really a 140FZ2 or FZ-Sport. The case is identical on these 3 engines. The way to tell the difference in the 140FZ and the 140L externally is the rear nub on the back with the 3 holes in it. The 140L was slated to be a limited edition engine because it was a little more powerful "little bit more" and it was built to accommodate the new at the time YS motor mount. The 140FZ never had this capability. That nub is the mounting lug for the YS mount.
You need to attach the pressure line in your normal FZ style drawing from the front regulator area to one of the rear backplate ports and then you pressure line with check valve installed goes back to the tank. The rear ports are 100% interchangeable as they go to the same area internally. Also if you wanted to you could just ignore the rear ports and loop them together. This would then take the pressure line from the front regulator pressure port back to the tank. The engine will never know the difference.
The 140L has a crankshaft ring with higher boost pressure on its "super charger" system. The idea of the rear ports was to get that pressure back tot he tank, and also equalize it with the regulator pressure. Essentially they do the exact same thing as the normal setup.
The big difference in the 140FZ to 140L and 140 Sport
140FZ no crankshaft ring and no rear lug
140L, slightly larger bore carb, crankshaft ring, rear lug for the YS mount
140 Sport is a 140L without the crankshaft ring back tot eh FZ style
The crankshaft ring gives a couple (about 200rpm) rpm. The 140 FZ is the baseline then the 140L will be about 300rpm on the same prop and fuel over the 140FZ. Then going back to the 140Sport its only about a 100rpm increase over the 140FZ. So the effective RPM change due to the crankshaft ring is about 200rpm.
I know this is a little confusing but the reality is we are talking 10 years of engines. The 140FZ was released about 1996-97 The 140L was released in about 1999, and the 140Sport was released in about 2003-2004. They are all basically the same engine. A couple different parts and thats about it.
