YS 1.40 FZ Won't Keep Running
I have a YS 1.40 FZ engine. The engine will start and initially run fine (tached at 8000 approx). After a short period of running (say 30 sec-1 min) it will start to lose power and continue to lose power until it stops (rather abruptly and violently). This is at full throttle. I've checked all the plumbing and everything seems ok. I replaced the check valve and glow plug. The tank was pressurized. Any ideas what is wrong?
Also, where is a good place to send the engine in for a rebuild, should I need to do so.

Hard to tell what is wrong. Could just be too lean.
only 8000 rpm is bit loaded down and could be a sign of a problem inside. But I would not be able to tell you. Fuel can play a role.
You need to prop the engine so its at about 8400. Then if it gets hots and starts to sag out it could be something wrong with the piston, it could be just lean. The fuel could be a problem. Lots and lots of issue.

is the link with all the contact info for service work to be done. They are really good at what they do. The lead time is about 3 weeks per a conversation with Richard last week. I think he has been up to aligators trying to get caught up. Busy time of year for the hobby inductry service centers. Guys are flying, and breaking lots of parts.
