Default 160DZ Cam

Dear Sir,
The Cam shaft has a dot mark on it which I remember must be at top when piston is at highest point. Please confirm.
On my 160DZ I changed bearings and looks to me like when piston is at highest point
I am inserting the cam shaft in and dot mark is little after top point. What do you think?
Thanks
Amram

Default RE: 160DZ Cam

Correct the Crankshaft has a similar dot or dimple on it. On the crankshaft with the dot staright down to the bottom of the case this will ptu the piston very close to it Top Dead Center point or its highest point.

The crankshaft dot goes down while the cam gear dot goes staright up. This is how to set the timing all on YS engines.
