I got this engine and to tell the truth, I know nothing about ys engines. My question. It did not come with a muffler, where can I get one? I will post a couple of pictures. On the engine there is a inlet with a red covering on it. What is that for? The picture in the 1 page manual shows that the vent line in not connected to the engine. It that vent line, just that a vent. Like I would have on my gas engines? Sorry for all the questions, just not familiar with YS.

Central Hobbies carries the Hatori muffler line one of which will fit this engine. Or did you want the usual plane stubby ?

The red covered inlet is the fuel inlet from the tank. The DZ uses a fuel pump instead of a pressurized fuel system. You will vent the fuel tank to atmosphere just like a gasser.
Central Hobbies has a lot of different exhausts for YS engines, the YS 1.20-1.75 all use the same exhaust thread, but I will caution you that the standard 1.20 muffler will choke the DZ. Do a search here on the DZ and you will learn a lot. |
