YS 110 stoping

Dave:

As you know I am very happy with my YS 110, it has 1 galon of Powermaster 20-20 and the power has been very good, but this weekend the engine stopped 3 times while flying with no aparent reason, do you have any idea what can be happening? I am running the engine a little rich with an APC 15-8 prop.

Regards

Alfredo

Maybe it is too rich. YS engines like to be set just off the peak. How far open is the high speed needle?

The needle is about 1 3/4 open, may be about 1/4 to 1/2 turn open from peak, I have always been woried about a lean run so I may be setting it to rich, until I can see a nice smoke trail.

Thank you.

Alfredo

It is too rich. The correct setting is about 2 or 3 clicks from full lean. YS engines run rich enough at this point.
