YS 63 break in procedure question

Hi Dave-
Just fired up my 63 for the first time yesterday and I had some questions. How hot should I allow the engine to get? I ran it pretty rich, rich enough so that I could touch the valve cover without needing to immediately pull my hand away. Secondly, how rich is rich? The instructions just say "a rich setting." I was running it at 8800 RPM with a MA 13x6. YS 20/20 Wildcat fuel with an OS F plug. Did my break in actually do anything, or should I do it again at higher RPM and higher temperature? Then lastly, do you recommend running it at full throttle for most of the 20 requisite minutes? The instructions don't make a mention of this either.

Thank you!

Reid

YS 63 break in procedure question

Hope this helps. I just got this engine too and found this thread buried in all the other ys 63 threads.
