Hi Mike,
I have a ZDZ 80 single that has 3 gallons of gas tru it and it runs great. The question is that I like to run it rich on the low end to the point that there is mild oily residue on the bottom of my plane after say five flights. Friends at my flying club say that I am running to rich and will carbon up the cylinder and will hurt the engine in the long run. They say the bottom of my plane should be without any oily residue. I on the other hand think it helps protect the bearings and my engine is remaining very tight. It was broken in with a gallon of penzoil and the rest has been synthetic at 50 to 1. In flight it burbles on mid range but never quits and sounds clean on the high end with no sag!
I am geting 6300 rpm with a 26-10 Beila prop which is excellent in my books. Should I lean it out some or is this OK in the long run.
Thanks for your support, great engine!!!!!!!!!!!!
