Good point, length is very important.

My way of handling things is similar to TBJ's: a spectrum setup with a ~2 inch receiver wire that stays in the radio box and there have been no range issues.  Some people have just mounted the wire off of the radio box by drilling a hole (check a few posts back).

I just ran my wire up over the tranny to the RX Kept tight with a zip tie and I keep the actual antenna wire with the tube cut to proper length under the body never had any range problems.

I noticed that the Hot Racing front c-hubs don't stop the steering knuckles from turning where they should, and end up allowing the wheels to turn so far that the dog bone comes out, causing them to snap. I also was wondering for a while why that was the only Hot Racing part for the Savage XS that Toadz RC doesn't carry, and now I am suspecting this has something to do with it. Has anyone here used them and experienced this problem?

Also, has anyone here tried the sway bar for this truck? I'm wondering if it is really worth buying.

Welp, finally got my Flux XS last night! Got it from my buddy finally. $200 RTR with 2s lipo and venom procharger ( charger doesnt work right) he only ran it twice, so there is very minimal scratches oon the roof. it still smells new!! maybe ill post pics of it tonight. I've already got planned new tires and rims, new high torque servo and new charger and lipo for it.

Speaking of antenna wires! My tube has come out, and so did the screw that helped hold it in place. Also my wire has been worn down a bit and it dangerously close to the drive shaft.

What have you guys done to keep it out of the way, and the tube in place?

I drilled a small hole in the rx box and ran the antenna out thru the hole and than just left it under the body.

HPI needs to go back the drawing board with the cups on the axle shafts.. Here is what the one on the left front side of my son's XS looks like after 5 months of bashing...

The one on the left is from the right side of the XS and the other is from the side

Also her is what the bearing looked like when I took it apart..

And here are the only balls that were left in the bearing.

Here is the upright from the left side.

Are you refering to the hole in the receiver box?

T9, my friends did the same thing within the first pack.  He is an animal with his trucks but thats even too quick for him.

Dspdrew - are the sway bars available yet?

Congratulations Cummins..  Enjoy the truck.  You are past the initial fear of it blowing up the first moment the ESC sees power.

lol well my buddy still has the reciept so if it does go up in smoke, hopefully hpi will replace it since all the xs's have a 2 year replacement warranty against defective parts. ill definitely take advantage of that, but only if the motor/esc get screwed.

I got a new antenna from Hpi and connected it on board to the receiver. Still little range. Any good radio replacements?

if you go with a Tactic 2.4ghz TX/RX they have no antenna wire at all and work great for under $100

Not sure about your lhs, but the one near my area have Spektrum - DX3E (SPM3160) with SR300 rx for $75. It has a good range and the tx has a good feel.

The spectrum is a good idea because they have a range of radios that will work with the same receiver so you have good upgrade potential.

Hey guys,

has anyone got this problem? After about 15 minutes of running, the throttle wont response and it wont move at all, but you can still make the wheels move. The wheels turn perfectly but theres no response to the throttle at all. Also, ive been having some issues with the front wheels, they move quite alot making it hard to control.

Thanks, Diego
