Sorry guys, I know this information is somewhere in this thread, but I just don't have the time or energy to search for it.

I'm running a Brillelli 40GT gasser. Using a Futaba PCM receiver.

Where do I want to run my antenna wire to minimize any RF interference problems?

Inside fuse, outside fuse? Top or bottom? What, if anything, do I need to stay away from? All my ignition stuff is in the front of the fuselage. All my receiver stuff is behind the wing tube. I'm using the Smart Fly fiber optic ignition cut off system.

Thanks,

Vince

Well motor is here! Now I just need to find the time to mount it. Trips to the hospital and taking care of three kids is eating up all the hobby time right now. I will get it though!

Vince... out of habit I always made a hole in the turtledeck topbehind the canopy, ran a pice of fuel tubing through it and ran the antenna out it and then a rubber band to the fin. I have never had RF issues when run this way... perhaps due in part to good luck... but it is perhpas one of the cleanest signal mountings.

Some don't like it because of the looks and would rather hide it... and now that I use the SPektrum receivers I don't have to worry about either issue...

If it bothers you, run it inside the fuse first and range test... if ANY issues try it out the tdeck...

Thanks! I went ahead and started the Brilleli 46 tonight it sounds great! The thrust to weight ratio on this plane is going to be wicked to say the least. It really spools up that 21X8 Bolly fast. I am going to love this plane!

Is that graphtech gear very stiff? I rather have some give instead of ripping out the gear blocks.. I bent mine just because I had a deadstick and had to plop it into our plowed cornfield..

Sorry no maiden for me today my wife was having a pretty hard time with pain from her surgery so I just put it off until next weekend.[] No sorry I did not take any pictures of my install of the 46. I think there are some pics on the review Sinergy did on the Brilleli Extreme Flight Combo. The one thing I did do different from everyone else (I think) is I used an HS-85mg mini servo for throttle. I just cut the small hole in the bottom of the engine box and mounted it there which gave me a straight shot to the throttle arm.

Thanks xtrflyr! I thank you for the kind words. It just gave me time to get started on my 30% extra 260 today so it wasn't a total loss.

xtraflyr,
The gear is not too stiff it seems to give just the right amount of loading. I am very pleased. I do not like alumn gear but it's just personal pref. Although CF does have it's limitations.

Extra,
I was going to do the same with my throttle with the mini servo but I feared interference from my EI. I'm using specktrum so it prob would'nt have been a prob but I did not want to take the chance. Have you had success using that method in the past? I pray your wife is felling better.

Yes I used the same method on my Hangar 9 1/3rd scale Extra 330 except it wasn't a mini servo. It was however a Zenoah GT-80 with magneto ignition which I believe is more prone to interference. I will range check before I fly of course. The srvo is still a good distance from the motor where it is mounted maybe not quite 12 inches but we will see.

Just wanted to let everyone know we received a shipment of 74" Yaks this morning in the popular yellow/black/silver color scheme. We also received more of the 88 inch Yaks in both color schemes.

I think the Brilleli 46 is borderline too much I dont think full throttle will be used on up lines with that. I would say it is too much motor not because of the weight but because the airframe might not hold up under that kind of power. I would say get the 88 inch yak he just got a shipment in today and that motor would be fine for that.

The wife is doing much better now so I am praying for good weather Saturday for a maiden!

Thanks, xtraflyr it is real relief to see her doing better. Now I can get my mind back in the game! I am real tempted to order the 88 myself but I think I am going to hold out for the 88.5in Extra. I have a 30% SD models Extra 260 to assemble that will hold me over for a couple months until Chris gets the Extra in stock. COME ON SEPTEMBER!

To bad I cant order the 88" now. As soon as my BME Yak is sold I should be good to go.. Im having a tough time deciding which color I want. I like both, but I dont want to be fighting with the Sun to keep the Blk/Yel from wrinkling.. So I may have to have the same color Yaks..
