OK , I just watched the video of the 88" EF yak with a Brillelli 60 and an ES carbon fiber pipe. That's the sound I need for my Brillelli 36 GT. Does any one know which model of CF pipe would work with the 36GT ? Need help before I finish the 74" YAK.

I think Maudib was making his 74" ready for a tuned or canister of some type. Look in the thread for it,or maybe Maudib could chime in here..

Are you making any other modifications to the OS besides the pipe? Maybe bearings or a fuel pump? Just curious.

It's light at less than 3 oz. I am running it with a Perry pump and it has GREAT throttle response at the length they recommend. I was in the middle of a Horizontal Round '8' with 1/2 rolls and forgot to increase the throttle as I headed up into the last 1/2 roll. It almost came to a halt before I just opened up the tap and it climbed away and completed the maneuver. Got a downgrade for the "hover" though

Not at the get go... I'll run the stock 1.60 and these two different pipes... I have aonw of the 36's coming and may end up with it on here too...
I'm really doing the pipes for a test.

Looks great! I'm excited about mine, too, but am still waiting on the engine. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. Scott said 2- 2 1/2 weeks when I ordered it and it's been 2 weeks, so if I'm really lucky, it may be here this week.
Been slowly working on the little things to kill time. All I need to do is glue in the rudder hinges and mount all the engine stuff.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
Hey guys,
Had a problem this weekend, the first one from this Awesome Plane.. Do some IMAC stuff nothing special, when the canopy blew off. Don't know exactly why... I emailed Chris from EF,just got a response today saying hes goin to send me a new one free of charge!!! Thats once again great customer service..
He just said to make sure I used RC56 around the inside of the canopy where it meets the wood structure. And to make sure there's no way that air can get under the canopy..
Thanks a bunch Chris..
Frank

That is outstanding!
What prop?
Do you know how accurate your scale is in that weight range?
Did you get an all up weight on the B36 power package on a calibrated scale before the install?
What does the CF spinner weigh?
Looking forward to the build pics!

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
Here are the engine install and cowl cut-out pics. For the engine I made a template after I mounted the aluminum rails to the engine. Spend nearly half the morning doing advanced calculus to make sure it was perfect. It fit perfect! I used 10-32 socket head screws and double lock nuts. Notice the velcro for the ignition (Thanks Maudib!!!) For cutting the cowl I made a template of the cowl diameter at the spinner back plate. Using card-stock I used the black pinstripe as a reference point and made a quite extensive template for the areas that protruded from the imaginary cylinder from former F1 to my spinner backplate template. I felt like a kid cutting and taping everything together. I then transfered it to the cowl and marked it, cut with a dremel. It fit perfectly the first time!!!
STG...
I have 3 props to try out TBM 20x8, Xoar 20x8 and PT models CF 20x8.
My scale is pretty accurate as I use it to measure my cocaine when I get it in[X(]. Just kidding. But I have some standard weights and they always measure to within 0.01 oz
The CF spinner with backplate weighs 1.9 oz. Its a Pete Models 3"
Here are a few pics. Sorry they are not the best quality as I am a doctor and pilot not a photographer

I almost ordered a PT models CF prop, but then found out they were significantly heavier than the wood(not as heavy as other CF props though).
I take it your all up weight was with the Xoar 20x8@~3.375oz? You can always step down to a lighter 19x6or7 or 18x8 to6 good wood prop and save more weight.
What kind of scale do you have that calibrates to .01oz in the 10 pound range?[X(] You must be weighing valuable stuff.
Where is CG & where did you place batteries ect?
What size gas tank?

Ah heck... and I thought it was accurate... (tee hee) Most of the digital scale you buy now (even the cheapee ones) are pretty accurate... as long as they are tested against base weights you can pretty sure it's fairly close...
I know why STG is interested... is because that's an incredible low weight... and we all want to make sure we know what items are used so perhaps if we can find lighter stuff we are unaware of we can look into it.
Also we always try and bring up things that MAY have been forgotten in the final weigh-in... it happens sometimes...
One of the reasons I like to be sure... is that if there IS a missed item, scale that's off, etc... then people who follow the items verbatim and come up considerably heavier get disappointed...
With the "in the air" items in the box being about 7.2 lbs and your completed weight at 11.25 lbs... You have 4 lbs in added stuff... or 64 oz...
The engine is 50 oz... leaving 14 oz for the rest...
Spinner 1.9 oz
4 x 5645 and 1 5895= 10.5 oz
PT Models Prop (20x10) 4.5 oz (A wood prop maybe 3 oz at the very least)
Fromeco 2600 3.3 oz
Duralight 950 2.5 oz
Miracle switch 1.1 oz
That's 23.5oz not including extensions, glue, velco, padding, plumbing, etc (and assuming the light wood Xoar prop)
Let's ballpark 2.5 oz for all the extras... So were are at 26 oz and you only had 14 to work with... somewhere we are missing 3/4 lbs...
I'm usually pretty good at figurmatin' an estimated weight (so is STG) and we are trying to find out what happened to 12 oz...
There could be some variance in "arf out of box weight" and maybe the engine was an oz or 2 lighter than spec'd... but still can't come up with 12 oz...
Again... not doubting your belief... just looking for a reason for a potential error or a pathway to get to that weight...

If I built mine with the OS160 with light muffler (slimline), light motor mounts, 18x6 wood prop and used stock tires and did not go crazy on the foam or tape, I would have been able to bring it in at ~10.75 pounds with a 13oz fuel tank. Not sure how I would have been able to balance it though? [&:]-- maybe 1 elevator servo mid ship?

Also:
I'm doing the review for FlyRC with the Brillelli 40GT. Just finished it up today, and I couldnt' be happier with the results. Haven't had a chance to maiden it yet, but expect it will fly very light. Here are the specs:
Brillelli 40GT-stock muffler, ignition, and standoffs
4x Hitec 5625's 1x Hitec 5985 (rudder)
Futaba PCM rx (probably end up running the DX7 and AR7000, though)
(2) 1500 Lithium packs Smart-Fly Standard regulator Smart-Fly Ignition reg Smart-Fly
Optical Ignition
12 oz. fuel tank (versus stock) Dubro Gas filling valve
Menz 20x7-S prop
3.25" Dave Brown spinner (4.5 oz)
The weight came in at 11 lbs 14 oz, which I think is really light. The only thing I did to reduce weight was eliminate all switches. The canopy is so easy to get on and off that I simply use Deans plugs between the batts and the ignition and receiver to unplug between flights. The ignition is switched optically through the Optical Ignition, so no need for a switch there. This is made possible by the simple canopy attachment method.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
O.K. fair enough... yours is the lightest I've seen reported...
12 lb even without your wheels and padding/tape/etc...
Now add the 4 oz back in for wheel pants and 1.9 oz spinner you don't have...
12 lbs 4 oz... - 6 oz for lighter engine...
11 lbs 14 oz... where might we lose 10 oz to get to 11 1/4 lb?
Doesn't really matter... it will fly great at 11.25 lbs or 12.5 lbs... Or 13.5 for those that got that...
I'm just trying to find out how I can get mine to 11.25 lbs... best I can see... I can't.
