Hi there, I currently own an accipiter badius and recently bought a wireless camera . Its around 15mm x 15mm square.
Can any one suggest mounting position, i'd prefer it be anyway but the bottom, for my bad landings!
Also it runs off 8v would it be better to use the planes power 8.4v or would it be able to handle the extra weight of a 9v batt?

I am not familure with this plane.
I would recommend that if want it away from the center of the plane then your option is the wing tip. It will require a skid but other than that, I don't know.

I would mount it just in front of the gear with a velcro strap or tywrap that will secure the engine to the plane. I would use a seperate battery supply for the camera.

The plane is a 3ch electric glider, foam and plastic, something to start me off ! I haven't had much flight time yet but getting there!
It doesn't have any landing gear so I would'nt want it on the bottom of the plane.
The plane is nose heavy, i was thinking of having it center wing, top, facing forward. Having it on a wing tip would send it way of balance as i am already having trouble squaring the plane. Here are some pics-
I find that the center is about 1/3 from the front of the wing, should i have the cam there?
would it effect flight at all?

stick it in the canopy and cut a hole if necessary, can't go wrong there.

it could. however, nothing says it can't be the batt compartment and the wireless cam compartment as well

Same plane is on Ebay. Wonder how it flys? Seems would be a good camera hauler.

I actually got it from ebay, $us65, They also sell some of the same planes with a camera kit, so i assume that they would be able to carry the weight,
space clam-
Do you think by leaving the battery lid/window off, and mounting the cam+batt, in that area would be ideal?
I have temporarily fixed it there , it fits well and the picture i get is good too.The batt for the cam also clears the servos!

But it has made the front slightly heaver moving the center/balance point forward more !

By leaving the window off would this create drag for the plane?

it would not really make any difference in drag. however, the front of your lense would get dirty often because it is exposed. you could lengthen the battery lead and place it more rearward if you wish. every plane is different, so as to the actual specifics and how to get there, i can not really help. but a little bubble canopy on the front would keep it from getting dirty.

Thanks for the ideas, i will try to make a clear window and experiment with the batt position, will let you know how it goes whenever i get a calm day down here[8D]! It has been too windy over the past two weeks.

If you have a spare RC channel (preferably a flap channel with a knob or slider) go get
a small servo, mount it under the wing along the side of the fuselage. Attach the camera
to the servo horn(the part that moves) You now have a camera that looks forward, then
with the movement of the knob, looks down for great video of the ground.

A great servo for this would be a Hitec HS-55.

Heres my setup on my Kadet LT-40, I use a standard servo:

hey that looks pretty neat but i don't have a spare channel yet, would consider now! your making the hobby even more attractive thanks ! Would it put plane off balance or would you mount the batt on the other side? keep the cool ideas coming I'll be hooked for life!

I havent noticed any change in lateral balance, if there was, I probably trimmed it out
a long time ago! Trust me, having the ability to tilt the camera is well worth the extra
equipment to make it work.
