Good point, I have not asked about Scale warbirds but I have asked about 3D aircraft. 0 3D aircraft have been reported in a clam from 1999 - 2014. Those are the years I asked for. I have seen some scale warbirds online and they have hit in the crowd area but with luck no one was hit.
One I am shocked about one that was a glider that did hit a women, wife of another pilot and I understood there was a law suite filed.
So to answer your question is scale warbirds and turbines should be in the higher risk group.

Simple math does not dictate safety in your explanation for our circumstances . There are many other variables that are imposable to calculate with out some sort of consistency in hardware. So that brings us to numbers of actual incidents over a period of time.

The math is all wrong. Just like Guns one aircraft is not more dangerous than any other. I've
seen a small ducted fan F-86 hit a guy in the upper fore head and pealed a 4 inch wide piece of his scalp.
That plane weighed about 2 lbs.
The real problem is the PILOT that does not have the training nor the skills to be flying a KITE.
Every Club has a couple, U Know the guy that keeps flying over the flight line or the other pilots heads. My pet peave is the guy that'sbeen flying for 30 years and can't make a right hand turn toward Them Self. Then U have the guy that keeps crashing all the time. U Know the guy that is keeping the local hobby shop in business or is one of the best customers of HK or Tower.
The FAA realized that Pilots skills deteriorate over time so they instuted the Biannual Flight Review.
A pilot can not fly as pilot in command with out having an endorsement in his log book saying he has had s Ground and flight review of his piloting skills by a flight instructor Qualified in an aircraft meeting the pilots Endorsements. I.E. Instrument, Multi Engine, or just a VFR pilot with nothing more then a SEL Single Engine Land endorsement.
Now I'm not proposing that R/C Pilots have to be Checked out to fly diferan type of aircraft ... but the AMA does have a Turbine Waver Program & a special approval process for planes over 55 lbs.
What I would love to see is that every club would have an Instructor program and anyone wanting to fly solo endorsed by 2 instructors that they can at least do a series of maneuvers to prove they have the skills to fly solo. JMHO.

So let us take a look at the "fair to all" Utopian approach, Say the AMA categorizes the aircraft we fly and assigns a risk factor and imposes a premium to each category and then to continue in the interest of fairness, assigns another rate structure for those who fly multiple aircraft types, we must also be fair and have another rate structure for the area we live/fly in, how many times a year we fly, and let us not forget a higher premium for those that file a claim. Before you know it the AMA gets so bureaucratic they have to double maybe triple the dues to cover added overhead cost, and we now are gripping at a $17.00 annual increase. I know this is as far fetched a thought as it gets and may God help us if any part of this bizarre prediction should come to fruition, but when you start talking about fair and equitable you run the very real risk of lifting the top on this Pandora's Box. My vote is KISS, Keep it Simple Stupid.

"Fair to all" can only happen when people are given choices of any offerings...take one, nothing or all...it should always be up to you as an individual...otherwise it's some form of socialism...but the concept of individualism is pretty much old school and antiquated thinking now....it seems people really can't handle that idea anymore...

The post was made more to point out the possibility of the associated cost to the "Fair to all" mentality rather than a "Socialist" versus "Capitalist" debate, that was never the intent. If you must make that association then it must be noted that "Fair to all" concept and the inherent bureaucracy created by the concept anywhere it applies is the most basic idea of Socialism there is. As well, individualism is neither dead nor antiquated as evidenced by this forum.

Following the points made here about insurance coverage -
A) who would keep up with each member who comes into then leaves certain "branches" of flying? Insurance fluctuates per member.
B) this would curtail growth across branches. If i had to pay more to fly under an addtional "branch" I would have to register and pay beforehand.
Guess I am on the side of KISS and also the concept of our "brotherhood" in an optional activity that we are all passionate about, here.
Much of what we appreciate about the hobby/sport/obsession is sharing with others, at all. If we wanted to fly alone, we would fly alone outside of AMA (and some do, and that is OK).

Only fair is too increase the yearly dues to $100 for every one that will weed out the Inexperienced old Goats and the cheepo's LOL
Just what part of "If it works , don't screw with it" Some people here are just to stupid and (CHEEP)to know when they have it good. Why should some one in the north pay as much as some one in the south or south west or California where they only get to fly 7 or 8 months of the year. Again if U can't afford the Increase I feel for U ... Sell your planes and radios and take up toy trains or r/c cars or boats. This hobby isn't for EL Cheepos.

I understand the point you were making...but not sure if you understood mine. So to clarify some, in keeping with the KISS principles, AMA could very simply offer insurance products or units of coverage that individual members could choose the level of liability protection they desire...not a one size fits all, like it is now....but like I said, an antiquated concept nowadays. We are now more concerned with what others have... to protect each of us...instead of what each of us have to protect ourselves...

Hounddog, You proved the math 100% correct. You must understand the math first. BTW the dues are going up to $78 so I guess we will see if membership drops. Maybe it will drop the more at risk aircraft.
I know many think its the pilot not the aircraft but you have to think about that. I don't know but I will assume older pilots have more issues than all the other ages. Sounds right due to I am not using reading glasses due to my eyes are not as good as when I was at 30. So why would you want to pick on our senior pilots? That's just not nice.
Type of aircraft seems to be fair and nice.
